About Tripwire Recon

Tripwire Recon is a location-based game for iPhone where your phone’s sensors are your weapons. Detect signal anomalies across your city, hunt them using compass navigation and Bluetooth scanning, intercept them in a precision timing challenge, and share your results to climb the leaderboard.

How it works

• Detect — Anomalies spawn near your location on the map. Five rarity tiers from Common to Phantom.
• Hunt — Tap an anomaly to enter Hunt mode. Follow the compass arrow and signal-strength meter to approach it.
• Intercept — Within 25 meters, the Signal Lock mini-game activates. Tap when signal peaks cross the marker. Timing windows narrow with rarity.
• Share — Every intercept generates a branded card you can share to iMessage, Instagram, or X.

Factions

Choose one of three factions during onboarding:

• Les Spectres — Stealth and deception. Tripwires are harder to detect.
• The Corsairs — Aggression and territory. Wider detection range.
• Crescent Order — Intelligence and precision. Enhanced sensor accuracy.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find anomalies?

Anomalies automatically spawn within 200 meters of your location. They appear as pulsing dots on the map. Tap one to begin hunting it.

Can I play from home?

Yes. Anomalies spawn within 200m of your location even when stationary. Home anomalies are Common rarity only — going outside gives you access to rarer anomalies and more XP.

What do the sensors do?

Bluetooth device density, ambient noise, GPS accuracy, and barometric pressure all affect your Signal Lock timing window. More BLE devices nearby = easier intercepts. Loud environments = harder. A Tessera Mesh node in range = 3x XP bonus.

What is Signal Lock?

The intercept mini-game. Peaks travel around a ring — tap when each peak crosses the marker at 12 o’clock. Common anomalies have 3 peaks with a 300ms window. Phantom-tier anomalies have 9 peaks with a 75ms window.

Does the app work offline?

Not fully yet. If your connection drops, the game can still surface local anomalies during the active session, but intercepts are not currently saved for durable offline sync after reconnect.

Does the app track me?

No. Location data is used only for gameplay (spawning anomalies near you and calculating distance). We do not sell or share location data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings > Delete Account. This permanently removes all your data from our servers.
