Edge Orbital Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the Tripwire Recon mobile application (“the App”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

Location data

• Tripwire Recon uses your device location to spawn anomalies near you, calculate distances during Hunt mode, and display your position on the game map.
• Location data is processed locally on your device and transmitted to our servers only for anomaly proximity calculations and leaderboard placement.
• You can disable location services in your device settings. Core gameplay requires location access.

Sensor data

• Bluetooth: the App scans for nearby BLE devices to calculate a device-density score that affects gameplay difficulty. We do not identify, track, or store information about specific Bluetooth devices.
• Microphone: the App measures ambient noise levels (decibel readings only) to modify Signal Lock timing windows. No audio is recorded, stored, or transmitted.
• Motion: step counting and activity detection are used for gameplay mechanics. Motion data is processed on-device.
• Barometer: relative altitude readings are used for gameplay modifiers. Processed on-device.

Gameplay data

• Username and faction selection
• Intercept results, XP earned, and leaderboard position
• Sensor profiles captured during intercepts (GPS accuracy, BLE count, noise level — used for gameplay analytics)

Device information

• Device model and operating system version (for compatibility)
• A randomly generated device identifier (not your Apple ID or UDID)

Network information

• We collect IP addresses associated with gameplay telemetry to prevent gameplay violations and cheating.
• IP addresses are stored with telemetry data and are not shared with third parties.
• IP addresses are retained for the same duration as gameplay data and are deleted when you delete your account.

How we use your information

• To provide and improve the game experience
• To spawn anomalies near your location
• To calculate leaderboard rankings
• To analyze aggregate sensor data for spatial intelligence research (anonymized)
• To send optional newsletter updates (if you opted in during onboarding)

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell your personal data
• We do not perform facial recognition or biometric processing
• We do not record audio or video from your device
• We do not track your location when the app is closed
• We do not share individual location data with third parties
• We do not use third-party advertising SDKs

Data storage & security

Gameplay data is stored on servers operated by Edge Orbital Inc. Sensor data is stored in aggregate form for spatial intelligence analytics. All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption.

Data retention

Gameplay data is retained for the duration of your account. You may request deletion at any time.

Account deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data by going to Settings > Delete Account within the app. Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.

Children’s privacy

Tripwire Recon is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date.
